Secure distributed data aggregation in dense Wireless Sensor Networks, inspired by Shamir's secret sharing theory and error-correcting codes.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are nowadays famous by their benefits, and are omnipresent in a multitude of areas, more important than each other. However, WSNs suffer from limited energy, and are vulnerable to attacks because of the wireless medium. Noting the presence of redundant data in dense WSNs, and knowing that transmission consumes more energy compared to other activities, we propose a secure distributed data aggregation protocol inspired by Shamir's secret sharing theory and error-correcting codes. The main feature of our work is involving sensors of a same cluster to send a single value, in order to reduce redundancy and data exchanged size to save sensor's energy.
Feriel BOUAKKAZ, is a freshly graduated PhD in computer science (February 2013 - July 2016), and currently ATER in ENSEA (October 2016) affiliated to ETIS laboratory. She mainly worked during her thesis on security and data aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks, as part of a collaboration between the University of Bejaia (Algeria), the Heudiasyc laboratory (Université de Technologie de Compiègne) and the lab-STICC laboratory (Université de Bretagne Occidentale, Brest). Between the end of her thesis and the beginning of her new features, Feriel worked on the security of Suidia project (remote monitoring of gestational diabetes), as part of a collaboration between the Lab-STICC and the University Hospital of Brest.
Feriel's research interests are Wireless Sensor Networks, security and data aggregation.
