In this talk I will present the main research activities that I am conducting in these recent years in the field of network optimization, with focus on three research areas that constitute, in my view, fundamental building blocks of current and next-generation networks: Wireless Healthcare/Wearable Systems, Virtual Networks and Cloud Computing, and Cognitive Radio/Opportunistic Wireless Systems. In this regard, I will illustrate my integration project at ICI and ETIS, discussing the future research activities I deem promising for next generation networks (5G and Beyond/6G): network slicing, multi-access edge computing (MEC) and Internet of Things.


Jocelyne Elias is currently (since Nov. 2018), Senior Research Engineer at the Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Lab, Huawei France Research Center, on leave from a Maître de Conférences position at Paris Descartes University (since Sep. 2010). Her main research interests include optimization, modeling and performance evaluation of networks (Next generation mobile networks, IoT, Cognitive Radio, Software Defined Networks), as well as application of Game Theory to resource allocation, spectrum access, and pricing problems. She has published 19 journal papers (including 5 IEEE Transactions) and more than 30 conference papers. She has been publication chair for WiOpt'17 conference and organizing committee co-chair of NETGCOOP'11, and served as TPC member for several  major networking conferences.
