The proliferation and global use of wireless and mobile devices has greatly expanded the amount of mobile data traffic through wireless cellular networks. Research and studies from Mobile Experts, Cisco VNI and Ericsson have shown that global mobile traffic has already reached 1,000 petabytes per month and is projected to grow to a great scale in the coming years. Urban wireless networks (e.g., vehicular network) constitute one of the alternative attracting solution for offloading the burden of cellular networks and lowering the operations load on base stations while improving customer satisfaction. In addition, these networks present a helpful solution when they are connected to Cloud/Fog.This presentation shows illustrates some protocols and models that intend to (1) efficiently utilize the bandwidth resources and fairly allocate the bandwidth resources among competing data flows in wireless mesh networks, (2) securely and efficiently communicate with vehicular and cloud infrastructure (V2V, V2Cloud).
Lyes Khoukhi received the PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, in 2006. In 2007-2008, he was postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research, University of Montreal, Canada. Since 2009, he is Enseignant-Chercheur with the University of Technology of Troyes, France. He has more than 100 publications in reputable journals and conferences in the area of vehicular and mobile networks, multi-hop networks, and Cloud/SDN. He has participated as a General Chair, TPC member, or Session Chair of numerous conferences.
